Braemar is a small village located in the remote Scottish Highlands. Due to this, there are limited accommodation options available in the village. Please see below for accommodation in Braemar and Ballater, a town about 35 minutes (21 miles) away from Braemar.
Braemar Accomodation
There are no hotels in Braemar (except for the Fife Arms, which is quite pricey), below are some local holiday let options.
Located on the Mar Lodge Estate, just across the bridge from the wedding and reception venue. This house sleeps 2 people.
Sleeps 10 guests, minimum 7 night stay. Perfect for guests embarking on a family holiday in the Scottish Highlands.
9 Lodges available for booking with occupancy for 1-6 people. These lodges can be booked as self-catering or bed & breakfast.
Sleeps 12 guests, minimum 2 night stay. Good for guests looking to stay with a large group of family or friends.
4 cabins available for booking with occupancy for 1-4 people. All cabins are equipped with underfloor heating.

Ballater Accommodation
A popular tourist deistnation due to its proximity to Balmoral Castle, Ballater has a mixture of hotels, guests houses, and holiday lets available. Ballater is a 35 minute drive from Mar Lodge Estate.

Coach
We have organised a coach which will be available to take guests to and from Mar Lodge.
The coach will start with a pick up in Ballater town centre. The coach will then travel through Braemar to pick up additional guests in Braemar town centre. The coach will then proceed to Mar Lodge.
The coach will also be available at the end of the night to transport guests back to Braemar and Ballater to a predetermined, central, location. The coach will leave Mar Lodge at approximately 00:30. This will be determined closer to the time.
Transportation
Drink driving in Scotland is illegal. This means, whilst in Scotland, you are unable to have any amount of alcohol and operate a vehicle (this includes bicyles).
Below are a few transportation options available for you to get to and from Mar Lodge Estate:
Taxi
There is a taxi company available in Ballater, there is a flat fee of £40 to get the taxi from Ballater to Braemar, with additional charges for extra distance travelled.
Drive
Guests are welcome to bring their own vehicle. If you would like to do this, you can either not drink any alcohol throughout the day, or, you may park your vehicle overnight at Mar Lodge parking and collect it the next day, once you have sobered up. Transportation back to your vehicle the next day is up to guests to arrange.
